The Sivananda Sarma Memorial RV College or SSMRV is one of the reputed colleges in Karnataka. The college has been around for 4 decades and has a lot to offer. The college is affiliated to the Bangalore Central University. In the year 1999 the college got recognition from the UGC. The college has also been accredited with grade “A” status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in January 2017.

Over the years the college has added a number of programs. The college offers courses in Commerce, Computer Applications and Business Administration under the School of Postgraduate Studies and the School of Graduate studies.

The department for Bachelor of Commerce was introduced in the year 1984 and is one of the oldest departments in the college. The department of BBA or Bachelor of Business Administration was formed in 1997. In the year 2000, the college added the department of Computer Application.
