Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Placement Cell has taken proactive steps to empower students in achieving their career aspirations. Beyond imparting knowledge, the university now offers comprehensive guidance and counseling services to students, facilitating their transition into further studies and job opportunities.

This dedicated cell identifies and nurtures the skills, aspirations, and interests of students, guiding them academically and enhancing their employability. Operating from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, it serves as a pivotal resource for career development.

For M.B.B.S. graduates who have completed their Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRBI) and obtained registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Tamil Nadu State Medical Council, opportunities are available to practice as General Practitioners (GPs). The Placement Cell facilitates access to vacancies as they arise, ensuring graduates can connect with relevant authorities and ascertain their requirements.

Postgraduate students, upon completion and certification from both councils, are equipped to establish independent clinics or hospitals, serve as consultants, or pursue teaching roles as assistant professors. The Cell coordinates notifications of such vacancies to enable junior doctors to explore these opportunities effectively.

Graduates of B.Sc. and Postgraduate Diploma programs, after receiving specialized training, have prospects to secure positions within the institution itself based on demand. It offers post-doctoral courses for practicing professionals seeking to enhance their profiles and pursue advanced career placements.
