UPCET 2025

Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test ( UPCET ), previously known as UPSEE, is an entrance test for admissions into various professional degree programs like Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Architecture, etc. It is a state-level entrance test and the conducting authority is AKTU ( Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh ).

UPCET is now replaced by JEE Mains, CUET PG, and NATA. Candidates have to clear the respective exams for admission into AKTU and its affiliated colleges through UPCET 2025. UPCET admissions happen every year and candidates can seek information regarding the entrance test on the official website of AKTU.

Held in offline mode across 148 centers, the exam attracts over 1.5 lakh aspirants annually. Candidates can choose three preferred exam cities while applying, and the university also provides a correction window for form updates. Admission is based on exam performance, followed by centralized counselling.

How to apply?

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Uttar Pradesh, releases the application forms for UPCET 2025. Candidates who intend to fill out the application form should first go to the official website. Then, register yourself by providing accurate information. After registration, you will be directed to the application page, where you must fill out the relevant information and pay the application fee. After successfully submitting the application form, download and print it for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria under UPCET 2025 are not the same for every course. Based on the course, the conducting authority has prescribed the syllabus. Although courses have varied syllabi, the general eligibility criteria for both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses include,

  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen and there is no specific age limit for UG and PG courses.
  • NRI and foreign candidates can also take the exam but should apply for the seats reserved for them.

UPCET 2025 Exam Pattern

The UPCET 2025 exam pattern includes 11 papers conducted over three days, with the specific paper based on the technical subject chosen by the candidate. All questions are objective type (MCQs), and the exam is available in both English and Hindi. There is no negative marking, but the number of incorrect answers is noted for merit list preparation. UPCET 2025 Ranking

The examination authority will publish the UPCET 2025 exam rankings and cut-off marks online through the official UPCET website. These cut-off marks indicate the minimum score required for admission eligibility. Candidates must enter their eight-digit roll number to access the results, which will be available online only. Qualified candidates listed in the merit list will be called for counselling. In case of a tie, a tie-breaking rule will apply. The UPCET 2025 exam rankings will be based on exam difficulty, previous trends, seat availability, and national entrance performance. Separate merit lists for each course will include scores, candidate details, and a digital photograph of the candidate.

UPCET 2025 Counselling

The UPCET 2025 exam counselling will be managed by Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) in multiple rounds for candidates with valid national-level entrance exam scores. Seat allotment depends on exam rank, category, and availability. Once the final allotment list is released online, candidates must download the admission letter and report to the assigned institute with required documents. Admission to UG and PG courses is based strictly on exam scores. After the UPCET exam date and result announcement, eligible candidates must register, fill in choices, and confirm seats by paying the acceptance fee. No changes will be allowed post-allotment.
