Ganpat University and the township of Ganpat Vidyanagar, a high-tech education campus, are the collaborative charitable projects of a large number of entrepreneurs and technocrats, noble farmers, and affluent businessmen with the objective of "Social Upliftment through Education." The State Government established the Ganpat University on April 12, 2005, with its enactment of Act No.19/2005. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved it under Section 2(f).
In recognition of its significant contribution to education in a short period of time, the University has been granted Permanent Membership in prestigious Academic and Industry Associations including the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), All India Management Association (AIMA), Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI), Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), International Association of Universities (IAU), Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of Gujarat appointed Start-up Nodal Institute, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Student Start-up & Innovation Policy (SSIP), National Centre for Management of Agricultural Extension (MANAGE).

Ganpat University's Training and Placement Cell ensures that its students are placed. The university's industry-linked program provides extensive exposure to the professional world. Over the years, the university has also formed placement partnerships with a number of organizations in order to provide career chances to its students during Ganpat University placements. Prior to the Ganpat University placement season, the university contacts prospective recruiters and invites them to campus drives. Students who are qualified for placement can participate in the recruiting rounds by registering for Ganpat University placement drives.

Ganpat University provides hostel facilities to its students. There are around 18 hostels for both girls and boys, with a total capacity of 4000 students. Each Ganpat University hostel has its own dining and mess facilities, as well as hygienic and nutritious meals, are served. All rooms are well equipped and furnished, and the hostels offer a gym, medical center, and shopping complex, as well as 24-hour water and electricity supply and a common TV room for student amusement. It also has extremely secure internet access and a working women's development cell.
