BMS College of Engineering was established by Late Sri.B.M.Sreenivasaiah a great visionary and a philanthropist. It is the first private college in India. The college has successfully completed 72 years of dedicated service in the field of Engineering Education. It started in the year 1946. The college was affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University from 1998 to 2008, and it became autonomous in 2008.The institute has been effectively practicing outcome based Education. The institute’s vision is “promoting prosperity of mankind by augmenting human resource capital through quality technical education and training”. Their mission is to accomplish excellence in research and service of the society in the field of technical education. The college has a strong alumni base of over 35,000; most of them occupy positions in various educational, industrial and research organizations.

Undergraduate Programs (B.E.)

Eligibility via KEA/COMED-K:

  • General Merit:
    • Passed 2nd PUC/12th Std with English
    • Minimum 45% aggregate in Physics & Mathematics + one optional subject (Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/CS/Electronics)
  • SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B):
    • Same subjects as above
    • Minimum 40% aggregate

Note: If Chemistry marks are low, the highest marks in optional subjects can be considered.

Entrance Exam Required: KEA / COMED-K

Management Quota: Must qualify CET/COMED-K/JEE Paper-I

Important: Admissions through agents are not supported.

Postgraduate Programs (M.Tech)

  • Valid GATE or PGCET score
  • General Merit: Minimum 50% aggregate in BE/B.Tech
  • SC/ST/Cat-I (Karnataka only): Minimum 45%

MBA Program

  • Recognized Bachelor's Degree (min. 3 years)
  • General Merit: Minimum 50% aggregate
  • SC/ST/Cat-I (Karnataka only): Minimum 45%

Entrance Exam Required: KMT / CMAT / MAT / PGCET

MCA Program

  • UG degree with Math/Stats/CS/Programming as an optional subject
  • General Merit: Minimum 50% aggregate
  • SC/ST/Cat-I (Karnataka only): Minimum 45%

Entrance Exam Required: KMT or PGCET

Note: No rounding off of aggregate percentages is allowed.
