The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, was founded in 2009 by the Parliament by Act No. 25 of 2009, along with other new Central Universities. The University has completed a successful 15-year journey has received an 'A+' grade from NAAC and is ranked #9 out of 50 in India 2024 by IIRF.

The university's goal is to provide a wide range of educational and research facilities covering multiple fields, while also encouraging creative teaching, learning, and research.
