Admissions for CUSAT are determined by the results of the Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test. For the BTech program, applicants can use either CUSAT CAT or KEAM results, with a minimum score of 168–1900 required for admission.

Scholarships are available for students ranking in the top 10% of the CUSAT CAT exam. For MTech programs, except full-time courses, admissions are based on the CUSAT CAT, while part-time MTech courses require a Departmental Admission Test (DAT). The GATE exam results are accepted for full-time MTech courses, but DAT scores are used for specific MTech programs like Thermal Engineering and Geothermal Engineering.
