Results

GATE 2024 results were announced on 16th March 2024 and are available on the GATE 2024 Website(https://gate.iitk.ac.in/ ). GATE 2024 score is valid for three from the date of announcement of the results. No score information or other information about the GATE 2024 exam scorecard will be available after this time.

Counseling

To apply to each university, candidates for IITs must register for COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) 2024 and fill out a separate application for each one. For GATE, there is no centralized counseling procedure. Additionally, based on GATE scores, state, and private universities do their counseling. For COAP and CCMT (Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/ M.Des) counseling, candidates who will pass the GATE exam must apply individually to be admitted to the participating institutes. It should be noted that whereas COAP counseling is used for GATE admission to IITs, CCMT counseling is utilized for GATE admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFITs.

The GATE 2024 counseling will not be held centrally by IIT Kanpur, which was in charge of administering the exam this year. For admission to the participating institutes, candidates must take part in COAP and CCMT counseling.COAP is utilized for admission to IITs based on GATE results as compared to CCMT counseling 2024, which is used for admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFITs.Even though admissions are dependent on GATE 2024 scores, many institutes additionally administer a written exam or conduct interviews to narrow down the applicant pool.

Documents required during counseling and admission:

• Provisional seat allotment letter.
• Self-Attested Copy of GATE Score Card (2022 or 2023 or 2024)
• Photo ID proof.
• Original Birth certificate issued by competent authority/Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth.
• 12th class mark sheet.
• Mark sheet of qualifying examination (all semester).
• Degree/Provisional Certificate
• Category certificate (if applicable).
• Three Passport size colored photographs.
• Seat acceptance fee proof.
• Printout of the Registration form & locked choices.
• Migration Certificate
• Transfer Certificate
• Original Conduct Certificate from the Head of the institution previously attended.
• Original Course completion certificate from the Head of the University/Institute in case the result is awaited.
• One set of self-attested photocopies of all the original documents
