HSTES Pattern
The Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) conducts various entrance exams for admission into technical and professional courses in Haryana. The primary purpose of HSTES is to streamline and standardize the admission process for various technical and professional courses in the state.
The purpose of the HSTES exams is to ensure that candidates possess the abilities and information needed for the courses they have chosen. The systematic counseling process not only aids in fair and transparent seat distribution but also aids students in being accepted into the programs and institutions of their choice.
Types of Exams Conducted by HSTES:
B.Tech Admission and B.Arch Admission:
Basis: Admissions are based on JEE Main scores.
Counseling: Conducted by HSTES for seat allocation in various engineering colleges in Haryana.
B.Arch Admissions are also based on NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) or JEE Main Paper 2 scores. NATA evaluates a candidate’s drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, and critical thinking ability, which are crucial for a career in architecture.
Mode of Examination:
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Paper 2A (B.Arch): Partly CBT and partly offline (pen and paper) for the drawing section.
- Paper 2B (B.Planning): Computer-Based Test (CBT)
