NID DAT Application

The NID DAT application process for 2025 has been officially launched and is available exclusively online. Aspirants seeking admission into undergraduate (B.Des) and postgraduate (M.Des) design programmes offered by the National Institute of Design must complete the application process carefully, as incorrect or incomplete details may lead to rejection.

Application Process

The NID DAT 2025 application form was released on September 3rd, 2024, and candidates must register before the deadline on December 6th, 2024. During the application, candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph and a scanned signature in the prescribed format. All communication regarding the application and examination will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID and mobile number, which must remain valid and active throughout the process.

Once the form is filled out, applicants can take a printout for future reference. An application correction window was also provided from 6th to 11th December 2024 for rectifying any mistakes.

NID DAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility norms for their respective courses:

For B.Des Programme:

• Nationality: Only Indian nationals and foreign candidates under the overseas category are eligible.
• Qualification: Must have passed the 12th grade from a recognized board.
• Age Limit:
• General & EWS: Born on or after 1st July 2004
• OBC-NCL, SC, ST: Born on or after 1st July 2001
• PwD: Born on or after 1st July 1999
• Foreign/Overseas: Born on or after 1st July 2004

For M.Des Programme:

• Nationality: Indian nationals and eligible foreign candidates may apply.
• Qualification: Must hold a 4-year degree or diploma in Design, Applied Arts, Fine Arts, or Architecture after 12th, or a 3-year graduation degree in any discipline.
• Age Limit:
• General & EWS: Born on or after 1st July 1993
• OBC-NCL, SC, ST: Born on or after 1st July 1990
• PwD: Born on or after 1st July 1988
• Foreign/Overseas: Born on or after 1st July 1993

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

The application fee can be paid online using debit or credit cards. However, the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
