The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, often known as RAJUVAS Bikaner was founded in 2010 under Section 1 Subsection (3) of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Act, 2010. On May 18, 2010, the University was established in Bikaner. Rajasthan is the country's first state to implement a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in veterinary education.
The university was established for the purpose of developing Veterinary and Animal Sciences in the state of Rajasthan in particular and the country overall through providing proper and systematic instruction, training, research, and extension in the most up-to-date system of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and its allied sciences. The University continues to persevere with technical and scientific support for developing state animal husbandry from sustainability to profitability. With the assistance of scientific and technological innovations and a favorable policy environment, improved output along with productivity increase has led the State to be one of the country's leaders in milk, meat, and wool production.
