The Sri Kalabyraveshwaraswamy Ayurvedic Medical College Research Centre and Hospital (SKAMCH and RC) was founded in the year 1996 – 1997. The main aim of the establishment of the institute is to meet the rising demand for Ayurveda. The college provides education to revive the ancient system of medicine. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, Government of Karnataka and Department of Ayush, Government of India. The college is providing very good quality education to many under graduate students in each batch and is providing all the facilities for learning the science and to enable them to become good Ayurveda Doctors. Post-Graduate studies were started in the year 2010 - 2011.
Ayurveda is considered as an alternative method of treatment, the Ayurveda medicine system not only cures and prevents a disease but also reduces the frequency with which diseases enter a human body. The treatment uses the self-healing system of the body. Currently, this alternative method of healing is being accepted by people worldwide.
