UPSC IFS Ranking

The Indian Forest Service (IFS) is administered by the Union Public Service Commission each year. The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of IFS. The individuals who clear the civil services (Preliminary) Examination and Indian Forest Service (Main) examination will be allocated to the IFS posts depending on various factors. However, the candidates will be allotted IFS posts based on their UPSC rank.

After the common screening test is conducted through the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, a separate list will be generated for the candidates eligible to appear in the Civil Services (Main) Examination and the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination as there may be common applicants for both examinations. The list will be created using the requirements of the General Studies Paper-I of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, which must be cleared with a minimum qualifying mark of 33%, and the General Studies Paper-I of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, which must also pass with a total qualifying mark, as determined by the Commission based on the number of vacancies to be filled through the Civil Services Examination and Indian Forest Service Examination.

The UPSC makes the rank-wise post announcement once the results for that specific year are made official. Once the mains and interview rounds are through, the UPSC civil services examination results will be released. Each year, the UPSC publishes the rank-wise post. The UPSC's lowest rank will be established by taking into account the open position, the number of applications, and the overall cutoff.

The rank-wise post created by the UPSC aids applicants in learning the rank necessary to enter their selected services. The rank-wise post tabular column for the year 2024 is provided below for those preparing for the UPSC IFS. They might develop targets for themselves that will aid them in their UPSC preparation by keeping track of the rank-wise posts.
