BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani for admission to its integrated First Degree (FD) programmes. There will be two sessions for the test. It is a computer-based exam held annually that tests the candidate’s knowledge in physics, chemistry, mathematics/ biology, English proficiency and logical reasoning.

The BITSAT exam duration is 3 hours. The scores of the BITSAT test are considered along with other factors as past academic record and performance in the personal interview, for admission to the B.E (Bachelor of Engineering) and B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) programs offered by BITS Pilani in its campuses located in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. BITSAT comprises 130 multiple-choice questions divided into four sections. candidates who attempt all 130 questions within the allotted time have the option to tackle 12 additional questions, three each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Logical Reasoning. However, once a candidate opts to answer these extra questions, they cannot revisit or modify their responses to the initial 130 questions. This feature is designed to reward well-prepared students with the opportunity to maximize their scores.

BITSAT Online Exam

To apply for the BITSAT exam, follow these steps:

  • Visit the official BITSAT website of BITS Pilani www.bitsadmission.com and click on the "BITSAT" tab.
  • Click on the "Apply for BITSAT" link and register yourself by providing your name, email ID, and mobile number. Candidates will receive a unique application number and password through email and SMS.
  • Login using the application number and password, and fill in the required personal and academic details, such as educational qualifications, contact information, etc.
  • Upload scanned copies of passport-sized photographs, signature, and 10th and 12th class mark sheets. The size of the scanned files should be within the specified limit.
  • Pay the BITSAT entrance exam fee through online mode (credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI) or offline mode (challan).
  • Choose three preferred test centres from the list of available centres. The actual centre will be allotted based on availability.
  • After filling in all the details, check the form for errors and submit it.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

BITSAT Exam Preparation

Here are some tips to prepare for the BITSAT exam:

BITSAT Exam Preparation

BITSAT Counselling

After completing the BITSAT 2025 exam, candidates instantly receive their scores along with correct and incorrect responses. Before logging out, reviewing the score is mandatory. For inclusion in the merit list, candidates must meet the BITSAT exam eligibility by appearing for the exam, submitting their 12th-grade marks, completing the admission application correctly, and paying the required fees. Only eligible candidates will be considered for counselling and admission.

The BITSAT exam fee is ₹3,500 for male candidates and ₹3,000 for female and transgender candidates for one session. For both sessions, the fee is ₹5,500 for males and ₹4,500 for female and transgender candidates.
