Admission to BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad is based on BITSAT scores. The candidates are ranked based on their results in the entrance exam, and the admission procedure is carried out in accordance with the candidate's rank, preference, and availability of seats in different courses.
BITSAT is a highly competitive exam and the admission process is based on the score obtained by the candidates. Candidates have better chances of admission to the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad with higher scores. The merit position of eligible candidates who have appeared in BITSAT- 2024 and who have submitted the application for admission in the prescribed form with the 12th marks, preferences and the required fees will be prepared on the basis of their scores in the entrance examination. Two separate merit lists will be prepared for admission. One for all the programmes except the B.Pharm and the other only for BPharm.
If two candidates receive the same score on the BITSAT-2024, first, their scores in Mathematics and Biology (for B. Pharm candidates) will be used as the deciding factors. If the tie still exists, then their Physics marks in the exam will be considered to break the tie. If there is still a tie, their Chemistry results will be used to eliminate it. Finally, their combined PCM/PCB (for BPharm) grades from the 12th exam will be considered for their separation.
When the test is over, the computer will provide the candidate with their results, including their score and the total number of correct and incorrect answers. Only after entering the test results in the test window can the candidate log out of the exam. The candidate cannot log out without submitting the correct scored marks in the test window. Before logging out of the test window, the student must complete this action to verify that they have reviewed their scores. They can also check their marks at the BITS admission website on the next day of the exam date. They can also take a printout of their mark sheet for any further usage. For counselling, the BITSAT results will be used to determine the order in which eligible candidates will be placed on the merit list. Eligible candidates are those who have taken the BITSAT-2024 and have applied for admission in the required format with their 12th-grade marks, preferences, and the necessary fees.
