No. Bmsit isn't an autonomous college, but its mother institute BMSCE is autonomous and quite prolific.

BMSIT is VTU affiliated meaning at the end of 4 years, students of both colleges get the same VTU BE degree certificate, but BMSIT has to strictly adhere & follow VTU syllabus and attendance regulations, while BMSCE enjoys the autonomy power and sets it's syllabus and attendance percentage rule on its own.

No, BMSCE comes in the top tier colleges and is autonomous whereas BMSIT its sister institute is mid-tier. Though they have similar names and maybe management connection, both colleges don't have any interaction between the two.

Yes. There is an admission quota for both PG and UG courses.

The admission under management quota is processed in the office of the BMS Educational Trust. The Council of Trustees decides the tuition fee for various courses under management quota and seats are allotted by the Chief of the Admission Committee. The primary thing to understand is that the college one chooses to go for Engineering doesn't really matter. The main way to compare any college is to see if it's Autonomous or if it's under VTU. PESU, RV, BMSCE, MSRIT are all the top colleges in Bangalore which are autonomous. They're quite good. BMSIT, MVIT are some of the colleges under VTU.

Personally we’d rank BMSIT as the top 5th in Bangalore, after the 4 autonomous colleges mentioned at the start. The college has featured in the Top 100 in the NIRF Rankings twice. All the departments have NAAC (The NAAC score is higher than MSRIT as well as RV) and NBA accreditation.

BMSCE comes in the top tier colleges and is autonomous whereas BMSIT its sister institute is mid-tier.

It’squite good and comparable to many new colleges in Bangalore being a new college itself founded just 17 years ago.The college ranks in the top 100 in India and top 10 in Karnataka. Placement is also decent and being the sister college of BMSCE gives the college the opportunity to build a brand for itself.NCC was also initiated in BMSIT in 2017 and girls and boys ratio is also decent. The best part about this college is that the students rarely face any issues regarding attendance. The college faculty members are all highly qualified and many are pursuing there PhD.

CSE and ISE have the highest placement which is above 90%.

Here’s how the placements work in BMSIT:

  • Min eligibility required for most of the companies is 65–70% but if one is close to the placement head then they’ll be eligible for every company even by having a back in a subject.
  • Once a student’s name comes in eligibility list, the next step is sitting for the aptitude round. 50% of the people get shortlisted by scoring exceptional marks and rest through influence and most of the people with exceptional scores get rejected in 2nd and 3rd round.
  • Tier 2 companies usually hire 5 to 6 freshers and mass recruiters hire around 30 to 40. Tier 2 companies offer package between 5 to 10 lacs p.a. Hardly 1 or 2 Tier 1 companies visit for recruitment which offer above 10 lacs.

PS: If a student wants a job through campus then they either need to have an extremely good relationship with the placement department or have exceptional technical skills.
