The primary thing to understand is that the college one chooses to go for Engineering doesn't really matter. The main way to compare any college is to see if it's Autonomous or if it's under VTU. PESU, RV, BMSCE, MSRIT are all the top colleges in Bangalore which are autonomous. They're quite good. BMSIT, MVIT are some of the colleges under VTU.
Personally we’d rank BMSIT as the top 5th in Bangalore, after the 4 autonomous colleges mentioned at the start. The college has featured in the Top 100 in the NIRF Rankings twice. All the departments have NAAC (The NAAC score is higher than MSRIT as well as RV) and NBA accreditation.
BMSCE comes in the top tier colleges and is autonomous whereas BMSIT its sister institute is mid-tier.
BMSIT is VTU affiliated meaning at the end of 4 years, students of both colleges get the same VTU BE degree certificate, but BMSIT has to strictly adhere & follow VTU syllabus and attendance regulations, while BMSCE enjoys the autonomy power and sets its syllabus and attendance percentage rule on its own.
