JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main) is India's national-level engineering entrance examination. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other centrally funded technical institutions in India.
It is also used as a screening test for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, which is used for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The exam is typically held twice a year, in January and April. The exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 for B.E/B.Tech and Paper 2 for B. Arch/B. Planning. The exam is conducted in computer-based test mode and the duration of Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) or Paper 2A (B.Arch.) or Paper 2B (Planning.) is 3 hours and for B.Arch. & B. Planning (both) is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

JEE Main syllabus 2025 will be the same as the previous year. The syllabus covers subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) from class 11 and 12 topics from CBSE/NCERT board. Because the JEE Main syllabus is based on class 11 and 12 curricula, students must have a good understanding of these areas from their schooling. It comprises key areas like mechanics, thermodynamics, organic and inorganic chemistry, calculus, algebra, and geometry. The subjects provided in the syllabus are carefully chosen to match the demands of engineering and architecture programmes, ensuring that students are prepared for their future academic endeavours.
The JEE Mains exam pattern consists of two papers: Paper 1 is for B.E./B.Tech admissions and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planning admissions. To write the exam, computer-based test (CBT) is used for both of the papers, which means instead of pen and paper they will give the exam online. Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are included in Paper 1 of the exam. For Paper 2 there will be three sections Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning-Based Questions. The multiple-choice questions in the JEE Main exam format test applicants' understanding, knowledge, and application of physics, chemistry, math, and aptitude concepts.
The JEE Main ranking system is a crucial factor that determines a candidate's eligibility for admission into reputable engineering colleges and institutes across the country. A normalisation procedure is used to calculate the ranking, which considers several kinds of factors including the level of difficulty of the exam, the number of test-takers, and other statistical data. A high JEE Main ranking is essential since it opens doors to reputable engineering colleges and institutions in the country. Higher-ranked applicants have a better chance of being accepted into prestigious colleges of engineering, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other esteemed universities.
The announcement of the JEE Main results is the time that students have been waiting for since the JEE Main exam has been successfully concluded. The result validates their eligibility for admission into esteemed engineering colleges across the country and is a testament to their diligence, commitment, and academic success. The JEE Main score is frequently provided as a percentile score, which represents the candidate's performance compared to other test takers. The result of JEE Main is a crucial milestone for engineering aspirants as it determines their eligibility for the prestigious JEE Advanced examination. Which serves as the gateway to secure admission into the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The result also shows the candidate's All India Rank (AIR), category-wise rank, and whether or not they are eligible for JEE Advanced along with their percentile score.
