MAT 2023 - Exam Pattern

The upcoming exam sessions of MAT Exam 2023 are just around the corner. AIMA (All India Management Association) has already released all the required notifications related to the upcoming MAT exam in the month of Feb 2023. The test will be conducted in CBT 1, CBT 2, PBT as well as IBT mode for admission to MBA and allied programs across the B-schools of India. The MAT Exam is conducted 4 times a year. The score of the MAT exam has a validity of one year.

MAT Exam Eligibility

  • The candidates should have accomplished a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
  • Final year students under UG programs (BBA, BA, BE, B. Sc, B. Com, etc.) are also qualified to apply.
  • Only pass marks are required to appear for MAT exams
  • Admission to MBA colleges requires 50-60% marks in graduation.
  • Reserved categories are provided with a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum aggregate.
  • There is no age limit to appear for MAT exams.

What are the differences between PBT, CBT, and IBT?

Paper-Based Test Computer-Based Test Internet-Based Test
The applicants are asked to carry Pen, HB-Pencils, erasers, and sharper with them. Whereas the Question Paper & OMR Answer Sheet is given at the Exam Centre. The student attends exams by the computer and the questions are displayed on the computer monitor. The candidate must have an effective internet connection to take this exam. This IBT would be a remote proctor. They are auditor through live video and audio feed. The computer screen of the student would also be watched.

All the questions in the MAT paper carry an equal weightage of marks. The questions are asked within the syllabus only, yet the modeling of questions might vary from one session of MAT to the another.

The MAT 2023 exam will consist of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs) divided into five sections.
Each section will have 40 questions.
You will be given 150 minutes to complete the exam.
