NID Admission

NID, Bangalore is one of the top 3 NIDs in India. The institute offers a Master of Design (M.Des) program. To seek admission to the National Institute of Design, Bangalore a candidate should pass a Design Aptitude Test: Mains and Prelims. Students must meet the minimum eligibility criteria to be admitted to the institute.

NID Bangalore MDes Eligibility Criteria

• For admission to the M.Des candidates should have passed B.Des or any other graduate degree in a relevant discipline, followed by NID DAT-Design Aptitude Test with two levels: DAT Mains and DAT Prelims.
• Candidates who have a full-time diploma of 4-year duration in Design/ Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Architecture after the 12th are also eligible to apply for the M.Des course.

NID Bangalore MDes Application Process 2023

The application process for NID Bangalore MDes is completely online. Candidates must go to the NID's official website and complete the following steps:

• Step 1:Visit the official admission website of NID http://admissions.nid.edu
• Step 2:There will be a 'How to Apply' section. If you are a new user, click Signup. You can use your login information to complete the application form if you have already registered.
• Step 3: Log in to your account using the mobile number and email address you registered with.
• Step 4:Fill in your personal and educational information correctly, then click save and proceed to move on to the next step.
• Step 5:Upload the following documents: a recent passport-size color photograph (between 60 and 100 KB); a scanned signature image (no more than 100 KB); and a caste certificate issued by a competent authority (no larger than 150 KB).
• Step 6:After you've uploaded all of your documents, click save and proceed to pay the application fee online (debit/credit card) or offline (demand deposit). You can also click save and exit' to finish the form at a later time or date.

Note: The application fee for MDes varies between Rs 2,000 and Rs 4,000, depending on the number of specializations chosen and the applicant's category.

NID Bangalore follows the Government of India's reservation policy. In addition, 15% of seats have been reserved for international (supernumerary) candidates.
