Electrical & Electronics: In 1963, RV College of Engineering started the Electrical & Electronics department. The department has a well-qualified, highly experienced, and dedicated staff. Most of the faculties are engaged in path-breaking research and development. The course is a healthy amalgam of Power Engineering, Electronics, and Computers; comprehensive and in keeping modern trends of Electrical and Electronics Engineering education.

Electronics & Communication Engineering: The ECE department offers UG, two PG programs, and a Ph.D. under VTU. Specializations include VLSI Design & Embedded Systems and Communication Systems, supported by top-notch infrastructure and MOUs with leading industries and research establishments.

Industrial and Production Engineering: The Industrial and Production Engineering department, affiliated with Bangalore University, offers a four-year UG program emphasizing contemporary engineering and managerial practices. It houses a VTU-recognized research center focusing on various areas including Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Human Resource Management.

Information Science & Engineering: The department of Information Science Engineering is the hub for innovation through Teaching, Research, Development, and Consultancy, making the department a global resource center in advanced, sustainable and inclusive technology.

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering: The Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering department at RV Engineering College offers a PG program and a VTU-affiliated Research Centre. Master of Computer Applications: In 1997, RV College of Engineering Bangalore started the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course. The department has the credential achievement of being the first PG program under VTU to be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. The milestones of the department also include its recognition as a VTU Research Centre.

Mechanical Engineering: The Mechanical Engineering department began autonomously and established a Research and Development Centre affiliated with Mysore University. It conducts sponsored research, offers MS and Doctoral Programs, and introduced M. Tech programs under VTU focusing on various specializations.

Telecommunication Engineering: The focus of this department is to deliver graduates & post graduates with strong fundamentals in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The department started a PG program in Digital Communication in 2013 and started another PG program in Radio Frequency & Microwave Engineering. The department focuses on research projects in the areas of Image Processing, Networking, Wireless communication, System design, and RF communication.
