UCEED Ranking

UCEED is a national-level entrance exam that stands for Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design. The exam is organized by the Indian Institution of Bombay. The eligible candidates will be given a rank. The eligible candidates are the ones who have qualified for the exam.

The candidates will be shortlisted by evaluating their performances in Part A and Part B. Part A will be first evaluated and Part B will be evaluated only if the candidates have been qualified in Part A. The candidates who have qualified for both parts their scores will be calculated. Then a rank list will be generated based on the candidate's total scores obtained in the UCEED.

After the results are announced and the rank list is provided the seat allocation process starts. The seat allocation will be conducted in five rounds. However, the seat allocation will be closed once the seats are filled. The allotment of seats will take place based on different factors such as the applicant's All India Rank (AIR), category-based, and depending on the candidate's choice of institutes. Selected candidates will receive a provisional allotment letter through their registered email and will be directed to an online payment system to finalize their seat acceptances by paying a Fee of ₹ 60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and ₹ 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only) for SC/ST/PwD.

If the two or more candidates have secured the same scores they will be ranked based on the tie-breaking policy.

The UCEED result and cutoff marks are very important in deciding the admission procedure for different undergraduate programmes. Following the completion of the exam, the IIT Bombay publishes a merit list based on the candidates' results in the UCEED Exam. IIT Bombay will also disclose the UCEED Exam 2026 cutoff along with each round's seat allocation results. The closing and opening rank for each category of the UCEED Exam 2026 will be available for candidates to check separately. For candidates to evaluate their prospects of admission into the courses and universities of their choice, it is crucial to be informed of the cutoff trends from the previous year.

Category-specific cutoff scores for the UCEED Exam 2026 will be made available. For UCEED 2026, the qualifying percentage for the General (OPEN) category is:

  • 10% in each section of Part A
  • 100 marks overall out of 300, which equals 33.33% total.

UCEED 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria

  • The candidate who has secured higher marks in Part B will be given a higher rank.
  • If the above-mentioned criteria do not break the tie, the higher rank will be allocated to the applicant who has scored high marks in section 2 of PART A.
  • Still, the tie is not broken, the candidate who has obtained higher scores in section 1 of Part A will be designated the higher rank.
  • Even after following these criteria if the tie is still the same the candidates will be assigned the same rank.

The candidates will be ranked based on their total scores in the UCEED.
In this case, the candidates will be ranked based on the tie-break policy if it doesn't work then the candidates will be assigned the same rank.
