UCEED Subjects

The UCEED syllabus and exam pattern is designed for students aspiring to build a career in design. It evaluates key traits such as creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, comprehension, communication skills, and a broad worldview. To guide applicants in their preparation, the official syllabus outlines the topics that will be covered in the exam. It serves as a roadmap for identifying relevant study materials and understanding the areas of focus.

UCEED 2026 has 2 parts divided as parts “A” and “B”.

Part A contains the following topics:

  • Visualization and spatial ability: Questions with illustrations and diagrams to assess knowledge of common and daily mechanical and scientific topics as well as transformation and/or manipulation of 2D forms and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
  • Observation and design sensitivity: To critically think about and detect hidden qualities in common objects, people, situations, and events. Focusing on specifics, analyzing, deducing, categorizing, inferring, and making predictions. the capacity to recognize minor distinctions in aesthetic outcomes and visual qualities.
  • Environmental and social awareness: General knowledge of environmental influences on the product, image, infrastructure, and environment design, including climate, people, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, and natural resources. Being aware of the social and cultural connections between design and culture, the history of the designed object, and design solutions that are both socially responsible and environmentally sustainable in Literature, sculpture, and art history.
  • Analytical and logical reasoning: The capacity to examine data, whether qualitative or quantitative and find patterns within the data. the capacity to evaluate ideas, justifications, or solutions in light of the proper standards. the capacity to determine if conclusions are supported by facts and arguments and to look for concealed prejudice or preconceptions. Ability to infer from a brief passage which of several statements is the most accurate answer to a stated issue using logic and organized thought. Brain puzzles, patterns, and data interpretation.
  • Language: The ability to use and comprehend Standard English. comprehension of text and proficiency with language in English
  • Creativity: Ability to understand verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols, think creatively, recognize and select innovative choices, and engage in out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Practical and scientific knowledge: Familiarity with scientific principles and their application to everyday objects, along with practical knowledge in related areas.

Part B will have TWO question from the following topics:

Drawing: To draw products, people, or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.

Design aptitude: The ability to respond practically and appropriately to specific problems or situations with resourcefulness and compassion.

The syllabus for part B section is drawing and design aptitude the candidates will be asked to draw products, people, or scenes in proportion with good line quality and should have the ability to creatively and empathetically address challenges.
Part A covers topics such as visualization and spatial ability, practical and scientific knowledge, environmental and social awareness, observation and design sensitivity, analytical and logical reasoning, language, and creativity.
There will be two questions in the Part B section, and the examination will be conducted using pen and paper.
