Results
The process of checking the UGC NET results involves the following steps:
- Visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the UGC NET exam. The website is https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/.
- Look for the link to check the UGC NET results. The link is usually made available on the homepage of the website.
- Click on the link and enter the required details such as roll number and date of birth.
- Click on the submit button and the results will be displayed on the screen.
- Check the marks and take a printout of the results for future reference.
It's important to note that the UGC NET results are usually announced within a month after the exam, candidates can check the official website for the exact date of the result. Additionally, the results are usually published in the form of a merit list, which includes the names and roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified for the exam. The merit list is based on the cut-off marks set by the NTA which is generally released along with the results. Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks and above the cut-off will be considered qualified. The marks scored in this examination are used for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in Indian universities and colleges. The eligibility criteria for these positions are based on the cut-off marks decided by the UGC.
Counselling
- Candidates who have qualified for the UGC NET exam must register for the counselling process. The registration process typically involves submitting personal and educational details, contact information, and other required information online. Candidates may also be required to upload scanned copies of certain documents, such as their UGC NET scorecard, as part of the registration process.
- After the registration process is complete, candidates must fill in their choices of colleges and courses in order of preference.
- Based on the preferences filled by the candidates and the availability of seats in the college, seats will be allotted to candidates.
- After the allotment of seats, candidates must verify their documents in person at the allotted college.
- Candidates must pay the course fees at the allotted college to confirm their seats.
- After completing the above steps, candidates must report to the allotted college on the specified date and complete the admission process.
