UGC- NET Exam
Paper Marks No. of Questions MCQ Duration
I 100 50 This section in Paper I will test the reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the Candidate. 3 hours (without any break)
II 200 100 This is based on the chosen subject and will assess domain knowledge.

UGC- NET

  • It will be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) only in multiple shifts.
  • There will be two papers for NET 2023 exam
  • Both papers will have objective-type and multiple-choice questions
  • Candidates have to complete the papers without any break
  • Each and every question must be attempted.
  • The medium of the test will be English and Hindi
  • The candidates should choose the medium while filling out the Application Form online
  • Candidates who select Hindi in the application form will receive bilingual paper; however, candidates who select English in the application form will receive English paper only.
  • Each question will carry 2 marks
  • There will be no negative marking for incorrect response
  • For any un-answered/un-attempted questions, there will be no marks
  • Two marks (+2) will only be given to candidates who have attempted the question if the question is deemed to be incorrect and is dropped. There could be a technical or human error at fault.
  • Only those candidates who attempted the question and selected one of the correct answers would be given credit if the question was deemed to be incorrect, unclear, or had numerous correct answers.

Each question carries 2 marks, and marks will not be deducted for incorrect answers.
UGC-NET mock tests are essential as they provide candidates with a realistic experience of the exam environment and familiarize themselves with the exam pattern and difficulty level, etc.
The UGC-NET 2023 consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is of 100 marks and will have 50 questions, and Paper 2 is of 200 marks and will have 100 questions.
