BMSIT was established in the year 2002-2003 with only three Engineering Departments which were Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. But with the due course of time other major programmes like TCE, EEE, ISE etc were also included along with it other PG programmess like M Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Machine Design etc. were also introduced. Along with UG and PG courses BMSIT also offers various Research Programme at different research centers where many research scholar works in diverse research areas.
