With the increase in demand for skilled labor the demand for technical education also increased. To fulfill this demand and nurturing the noble cause of higher education BMS Institute of Technology was started under BMS Educational Trust founded by by Sri B M Sreenivasaiah and his son, Sri B S Narayan in the year 2002 and is one of the six institutions under this trust. BMSIT is recognized by AICTE and is affiliated to VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University). The institute offers popular undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses which are highly demanded with various specializations.
In 2005 the college was privileged to be granted the status of a Research Institution by the Visveswaraya Technological University. BMSIT Admission is managed by an office which is completely dedicated to admissions of BMSIT. Every year, it enrolls thousands of students for undergraduate, postgraduate courses. Each and every application is processed systematically and is considered and then preceded further.
The admission procedure consist of two different parts, one being eligibility criteria meet and other is of further selection procedures. Students willing to take admission in the college should meet both required eligibility criteria as well as satisfy all selection procedures for successful admission. Mere applying for admission and acceptance of application doesn’t confirm the admission. One has to compulsorily go through all the procedure irrespective of their ranks, scores they would have got in KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) or COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) whichever appropriate.

The BMS Institute of Technology Fee Structure is according to the standard followed in the industry. Students’ convenience and affordability has been the priority of the institution. The fee range varies depending on the courses chosen. Fee might vary for students joining through KCET and COMEDK. The fee structure doesn’t include Tuition fee and has to be paid separately while paying the fee. All the UG courses and PG courses are of 3 years and 2 years of duration respectively and are of Full Time in nature. All the Courses have got required affiliation and accreditations. BMS Institute of Technology Hostel has been structured to provide students with friendly and homely environment. Boys hostel have been incorporated within the campus but girls have been provided with off-campus boarding facility. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods are provided separately and proper hygiene is maintained in the kitchen.
