IPMAT Exam Pattern

The aptitude test which is on June 16, 2023 (afternoon shift i.e., 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM) will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) will be conducted across 34 countries.

Exam pattern

Mode of Examination- The IPMAT exam is conducted in online mode (Computer-Based Test).

Sections: The exam consists of three sections: Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).

Number of Questions: The number of questions may vary each year. IPMAT 2023 exam consists of 90 questions.

Sectional Distribution of Questions & Time: The questions are divided among three sections as follows:

  • Quantitative Ability (QA): This section generally contains 25 questions with a time limit of 40 minutes.
  • Verbal Ability (VA): The VA section consists of 50 questions with a time limit of 40 minutes.
  • Logical Reasoning (LR): The LR section has 25 questions with a time limit of 40 minutes
  • The total number of questions is 100 with a time duration of 3 hours or 120 minutes.

Marking Scheme: each question will carry 4 marks and -1 will be deducted for each wrong answer except Quantitative Ability (SA) Section (these questions will not carry any negative marking). The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in all stages of the selection process.

Mock Test

The IPMAT exam is followed by a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round for shortlisted candidates. IPMAT mock test is a simulated version of the actual exam which helps the candidates to familiarize themselves with the test format, question pattern, and level of difficulty. It helps the candidates to identify their strengths and weaknesses and improve their performance in the actual examination. There are several websites and institutes that provide IPMAT mock tests.
