UPSC NDA Application Process
- Check the eligibility criteria: Make sure that you meet the age, educational, and physical requirements for the exam.
- Register Online: Visit the official UPSC website https://www.upsc.gov.in/ and register for the NDA exam at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform.
- Fill in the application form: Carefully fill in the details required in the application form, such as personal information, educational qualifications, and other relevant details.
- Upload the necessary files: Your scanned signature, a passport-sized photo, and other necessary documents must all be uploaded.
- Pay the application fee: The application fee can be paid online via debit card, credit card, or net banking.
- The application fee for NDA 2025 examination is Rs. 100/- for all candidates.
- Candidates from the SC, ST, NCO, Sons of JCO, and ORS categories are not required to pay the application fee.
- Submit the application form: Once you have completed all the above steps, submit the application form before the last date.
Note: There are two types of NDA exams, NDA I and NDA II, which are conducted twice a year.
Documents required for application:
- 10th class certificate (for age proof)
- 12th class certificate (for educational qualification)
- Birth certificate
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate (if applicable)
- Photograph and signature
- NCC certificate (if applicable)
- Sports certificate (if applicable)
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to apply for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), candidates must meet the following criteria:
Nationality
Candidates must be Indian citizens or subjects of Nepal to be eligible.Individuals of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam to settle in India permanently can also apply.However, a certificate of eligibility is not required for Gorkha candidates from Nepal.
Educational Qualifications
- For Air Force & Naval Wings (Cadet Entry Scheme): Candidates must have passed Class 10 and 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- For Army Wing of NDA: Candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Appearing Candidates: Those appearing for their Class 12 exams are also eligible to apply.
Other Eligibility Criteria
- Gender: Both unmarried male and female candidates can apply. Marriage is not permitted during the training period.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be aged between 16.5 to 19.5 years.
- For NDA I, candidates should be born between 2nd July 2006 and 1st July 2009.
- For NDA II, candidates must be born between 1st January 2007 and 1st January 2010
- Medical Fitness: Applicants must meet all medical standards prescribed by the authorities.
- Candidates who have resigned or been withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from training academies are not eligible to apply.
Admit Card
The NDA 2025 Admit Card for Session II will be released online in September 2025. Candidates must download the hall ticket using their login credentials a few days before the exam. The admit card will not be sent by post or any offline mode. In case of any errors, candidates should immediately contact the authorities for correction. Those who do not receive their e-admit card must inform UPSC at least one week before the exam. A printout of the admit card and valid ID must be carried on exam day.
Fees
- SC/ST candidates/female candidates/Wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs do not have to pay the application fee.
- Other candidates have to pay a fee of 100/- either offline through any Branch of the State Bank of India by cash or online through Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using the internet banking of any Bank.
