UPSC NDA Preparation

Preparing for the UPSC NDA exam requires a strategic and consistent approach. Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam offers admission to candidates in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is conducted twice a year and is open to unmarried male and female candidates who have completed or are appearing in Class 12th.

UPSC NDA Exam Pattern

Understanding the UPSC NDA exam pattern is the first step in preparation. The written examination consists of two papers:

  • Mathematics – 300 marks
  • General Ability Test (GAT) – 600 marks

Each paper is for 2.5 hours. The mathematics paper includes algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and geometry questions. The GAT paper is divided into two sections:

  • English (200 marks): Grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and usage
  • General Knowledge (400 marks): Covers Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, and Current Affairs

After passing the written test, candidates must undergo the SSB Interview, which includes psychological tests, group discussions, and physical tasks to assess leadership, personality, and communication skills.
