- General Ability This section is divided into 2 parts- Part A- English and Part B- General Knowledge.

- Physics- Topics include -Physical Properties and States of Matter, Mass, Weight, Volume, Density, and Specific Gravity, Principle of Archimedes, electricity and magnetism, modern physics etc.
- Chemistry- Elements, Mixtures and Compounds, Symbols, Oxidation and Reduction, Atomic Equivalent and Molecular Weights, Valency, etc.
- General Science- Basis of Life, Source of Energy for man, Meteors and Comets, Achievements of Eminent Scientists, etc.
- History, Freedom Movement etc.- Freedom Movement in India. Elementary study of Indian Constitution and Administration, Forces shaping the modern world; Renaissance, Exploration and Discovery; War of American Independence, Impact of Science and Technology on Society. Concept of one World, etc.
- Geography- The Earth, its shape and size, Latitudes and Longitudes, Volcanoes, Ocean Currents and Tides, Types of Climate, Major Natural regions of the World, Important Sea ports and main sea, land and air routes of India, etc.
- Current Events- Prominent personalities—both Indian and International including those connected with cultural activities and sports, Current important world events, etc.
