IIT JAM Application
- Candidates have to visit the official website
- Once the website page is displayed click on the JOAPS 2023 Candidate Portal.
- The registration portal will appear on the screen
- Enter the required information and click submit.
- After successfully registering the applicant will receive an Enrollment ID to the registered mail id or contact number.
- Using the obtained Enrollment ID and password the candidates can login into the application portal.
- Click on the edit application form option and fill in the necessary details.

Eligibility Criteria
The individuals who wish to take up the IIT JAM should ensure they fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.
- The candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree or are currently pursuing their final year of the undergraduate program are eligible.
- The applicants who have passed without a mark sheet should submit a certificate specifying the subjects that were studied during that semester/year, fully attested by the Institute Head.
- Candidates who are foreign nationals with Indian degrees are eligible to apply.
Note:
During the time of admission, the applicants have to submit a Physical fitness certificate in a prescribed form obtained from a registered medical practitioner. The eligible candidates will have to undergo a physical fitness test by the medical board appointed by the admitting institute. The cancellation of admission can be done if the candidate is found to be physically unfit.
In accordance with rules and regulations, if the candidates are found to be ineligible, or unqualified the admitting institutions have the right to cancel the admission at any stage.
Admit Card
- The admit card for the IIT JAM exam was released by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati on January 11th in the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) portal.
- To download the admit card, the applicants will need to use the login credentials (enrollment ID and password) that they used while filling out the application form.
- It is important to check that all the information on the admit card is correct, including your name, photograph, and exam centre details.
- If there are any errors or discrepancies, you should contact JAM Helpdesk at jam2023@iitg.ac.in. immediately.
- On the day of the exam, the applicants should carry their printed copy of the admit card and an authorised government-issued photograph ID (such as a PAN card, Aadhar card, or passport) to the exam centre. They won't be able to enter the exam room without their admit card and a valid ID.
- The applicants should keep the admit card carefully as they might need it for future references, including confirming their grades and applying for admission to the institution.
Documents required
- Aadhar Card or First Page of Passport or Birth Certificate or Voter ID Card.
- 10th standard (SSC) Certificate.
- 12th standard (HSC) Marksheet.
- For programs that require 10+2 Mathematics, if a candidate has not studied Mathematics in 10+2, but has subsequently completed a Mathematics course with open schooling (for example NIOS), then the certificate for the same should be provided.
Required Marksheets
- Marksheet of First Year of Qualifying Degree. If certificates are available as per semester, combine the certificates of the 1st and 2nd semesters.
- Marksheet of Second Year of Qualifying Degree. If certificates are available as per semester, combine the certificates of the 3rd and 4th semesters.
- If available, the Marksheet of the Third Year of the Qualifying Degree. If certificates are available as per semester, combine the certificates of the 5th and 6th semesters.
- If applicable, the Marksheet of the Fourth Year of the Qualifying Degree. If certificates are available as per semester, combine the certificates of 7th and 8th semesters.
- If applicable, the Marksheet of the Fifth Year of the Qualifying Degree. If certificates are available as per semester, combine the certificates of the 9th and 10th semesters.
- If available, a consolidated Marksheet of all the years/semesters of the qualifying degree can be uploaded
Other Documents
- Filled in Declaration Form.
- Degree Certificate, if available.
- If applicable, OBC (NCL) Certificate or EWS Certificate in the specified format.
- If applicable, PwD Certificate in the specified format.
