IIT JAM Ranking

The IIT JAM 2025 ranking and cutoff details for all seven MSc courses have been released on the official website following IIT Madras's declaration of results on March 18, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results and cutoffs by logging into their JOAPS 2025 account.

The cutoff marks are displayed on the candidate’s scorecard and vary depending on the subject and category. The IIT JAM ranking is determined based on the marks secured by candidates, and the cutoff plays a crucial role in determining admission eligibility. For 2025, the cutoffs are expected to be slightly higher than in previous years due to the relatively lower difficulty level of the question paper.

Experts estimate that the IIT JAM 2025 cutoff marks range between 29 and 32 for most subjects, though exact figures differ for each programme. These figures are calculated after considering the number of candidates, available seats, exam difficulty level, and overall performance trends.

In addition to subject-wise qualifying cutoffs, the exam authority will release the admission cutoff during the counselling rounds. Candidates who meet or exceed these cutoffs will have a better chance of securing admission into their preferred institute and programme based on their IIT JAM ranking.

Below is the opening and closing rank of the previous year which the candidates can refer to get an idea of the JAM closing and opening rank.
