Exam Pattern

The JEE Advanced exam is conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers are compulsory and have objective-type (multiple choice and numerical answer) questions. The JEE Advanced exam format is as follows:

  • The 2024 JEE Advanced exam will be taken online
  • Two papers—Paper 1 and Paper 2—will comprise the test. Appearing for the paper is mandatory
  • The essay is divided into three sections: physics, chemistry, and maths.
  • Each section has 18 questions.
  • Each paper carries 183 marks
  • The total marks for JEE Advanced test is 306 marks
  • The duration is 3 hours for each paper.
